"Les Mercredis de STMS" welcomes Trevor Wishart, this week's guest of the Musical Representations team at the STMS laboratory (UMR 9912) at Ircam.

A renowned composer of electronic music, vocalist, and principal developer of the Composers' Desktop Project, Trevor Wishart is also the author of the book On Sonic Art.

He presents the voice processing techniques he uses in his pieces (for example, in Red Bird, Vox #5, produced at Ircam, and in his new work The Garden of Earthly Delights).

• Using speech as sound material for composition.
• Transformations of speech sounds in different time-frames in Vox5, Globalalia, Encounters in the Republic of Heaven and other works.
• Working at the narrative level in T_he Garden of Earthly Delights_.
