Germination is a piece for 13 musicians, electronics and vegetal and electronic materials. It was created during the Manifeste festival in Juin 2013 at Ircam. The idea of the piece is to infer he architectural particularities of a site. The piece takes as model the growth model of plants, in form of a concert-installation in two parts: The first part, for ensemble and live electronics, is played in a concert hall ideally located underground, and the second part is electroacoustic, produced in an open public space, using fifty small speakers. The form and the musical material in Germination all came from the world of plants: generative processes, directivities, root growth models and fractal forms.
